Audacity is a free audio editing and recording application for Windows, Linux, and Mac. This short tutorial gives a quick demonstration of the some of its features that can be very useful when trying to figure out how to play a song on guitar (or any instrument for that matter). You can download Audacity here: audacity.sourceforge.net For specific information about my recording method for my cover videos, gear, playing history, tabs, etc., please visit my website: www.killrbuckeye.com FAQ Q: When I import a song and play it, I only hear a short blip. What’s going on? A: You are trying to open an unsupported file format, such as iTunes .m4a. Convert the file to MP3 or WAV and try again. In iTunes 8, there is an option to “Create MP3 Version” of a .m4a file in the Advanced menu. For more information about unsupported file formats, go here: audacity.sourceforge.net Q: All of the effects in the Effect menu are grayed out and can’t be selected. How do I apply effects? A: You need to use the cursor to highlight a section of the waveform (or select all) before you can apply any effects.
